We at St. Johns Bass Anglers are proud of the many accomplishments the club has achieve over the years. Our charter dictates that we continue to strive at broadening our efforts in the years to come. The following list comprises factual information pertaining to our club.

Founded April 21, 1970, St Johns Bass Anglers is currently the oldest B.A.S.S. affiliated club in Florida and the 5th oldest
       in the nation.

Small friendly club with about 50 current members.

One of the first clubs to make trips for Peacock Bass.  Lake Yoyoa, Hunduras in 1973/1974.

One of, if not the only bass club to win a professional event.

Club officers have testified before the Florida State Legislature to retain Rodman when the first attempts to drain it were        made in 1975.  Records of club catches aided in portraying Rodman as a viable fishery, and are a part of the legislative        record.

Over $50,000.00 raised for children's charities such as Easter Seals, Children's Miracle Network. and others.  Operated        the first open tournaments in Florida to provide for immediate catch and release, without holding fish until a weigh-in.  This        was in the late 70s on Orange Lake.  The brothers who operated the Cross-Creek Fish Camp, were employed to patrol        the lake, any anglers having fish would waived over the brothers.  The brothers would weigh the fish, give the contestants        a weigh slip and release the fish.

St. Johns Bass Anglers were asked through a hand written letter from Bill Dance in the early 1970s to assist him in        promoting catch and release practices.

Club members have won numerous State Team Championships.  Three members have won individual State Championships,        and have also competed in National Championships.

Club members serve in every office of the Florida B.A.S.S. Federation, with two current members serving.

Currently have four youth members competing.  The club's first youth member was Peter Thliveros.

Have provided accurate and detailed records of catches to Game and Fish officials to assist in studies of lake and river bass        populations and health.

Provided in 1999/2000, assistance to the St. Johns River Management biologist, assistance in surveying, measuring and        monitoring major grass beds in the river.

Our Club has what is recognized as the most comprehensive and well written Constitution, By-Laws, and Club Rules.         Originally authored by Gene Loftin, founding member and local attorney, these documents have minimally been modified        over the years.

The Constitution and By-Laws contain a unique qualifying process for new members which is largely maintained today.
